Roses
Dos & Don’t’s
- Remove them from the plastic covering as soon as possible.
- Do not place your roses near fruit or cigarette smoke.
-Keep your floral arrangement in a cool place. Avoid placing flower arrangements in window sills and other areas with full sun where flowers can wilt due to overheating.
-Don’t place in a window or on an appliance.
- Most flowers will last longer under cool conditions.
-Keep your vase filled with fresh water.
-All flower and foliage stems should be submerged. Flowers stay fresher, longer when they can get a drink! Flowers drink a lot of water! It is not uncommon for a large flower arrangement to suck up all the water in a vase within the first day or two you have it at home.
-Change Water every three days.
-Add a drop of bleach to help reduce bacteria.
-Flowers will consume less water when bacteria is present. Lift your stems out of the vase, change the water (add flower food to the new water if available) and cut your flower stems just before putting them back into water. Do this every other day and you can double the life of your flowers.
-Immediately remove wilting flowers and leaves.
